Glasgow has the highest incidence of both mental and physical illness compared with the rest of Scotland. Mental health conditions are 48% higher, learning disability 20% higher and physical disability 16% higher. 23.0% of Glasgow adults have common mental health problems compared to 19.0% in of Scottish adults, with rates for females being higher than for males in Glasgow (F 25.0%, M 22.0%) and Scotland (F 20.0%, M 17.0%).
At the same time, waiting lists for help are increasing.
At Common Wheel we are actively seeking additional funding to increase the number of places on our programmes and to ease the pressure on our waiting lists. If you would like to help, please visit our Go Fund Me Page.
